- Board Certified Gastroenterology
- Our group performs approximately 14,000 procedures annually, using the most advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy technology to treat disorders of the digestive system.
- Through the support of our researchers, our physicians have access to the most advanced technology, treatments and diagnostics in Gastroenterological care, especially colorectalandliver cancer.
- This opportunity is to join our team of 12 FT Gastroenterology faculty and 1 NP
- We are in the process of hiring 1-2 PAs in the next few months to add to our growing team.
- Advanced therapeutics not required, though welcome.
- All GI procedures are done.
- GI inpatient care strictly consultative. Consult service staffed by GI fellows at all times and supervised by all faculty members on a rotating basis. Generally, ranges from 3-8 new consults per day. Inpatient consult service coverage 5-6 weeks per year.
- Fellow endoscopy coverage 1-2 -day sessions per week.
- Remainder is outpatient care
The more common procedures include:
- Colonoscopy and removal of polyps
- Upper endoscopy
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic ultrasound
- Esophageal and rectal manometry
- Liver biopsy
- Capsule endoscopy
- Endoscopic reflux therapy
- Gastrointestinal motility services
- First, a member of the Gastrointestinal Division thoroughly evaluates each patient, educates the patient abouthis or hercondition and treatment options, and determines a treatment plan. If an endoscopy is required, the patient receives the procedure at the endoscopy unit or at our nearby Ambulatory Endoscopy Center.
