10 PLUSGastroenterologists perform approximately 14,000 procedures annually, using the most advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy technology to treat disorders of the digestive system. Through the support of our researchers, our physicians have access to the most advanced technology, treatments and diagnostics in Gastroenterological care, especially colorectal and liver cancer. This opportunity is to join our team of 12 FT Gastroenterology faculty and 1 NP based at our Weiler campus. We are in the process of hiring 1-2 PAs in the next few months to add to our growing team. Advanced therapeutics not required, though welcome. All GI procedures are done. GI inpatient care strictly consultative. Consult service staffed by GI fellows at all times and supervised by all faculty members on a rotating basis. Generally, ranges from 3-8 new consults per day. Inpatient consult service coverage 5-6 weeks per year. Fellow endoscopy coverage 1-2 ½-day sessions per week. Remainder is outpatient care with time in modern, LPN-staffed ambulatory site and ambulatory endoscopy center

- Colonoscopy and removal of polyps
- Upper endoscopy
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic ultrasound
- Esophageal and rectal manometry
- Liver biopsy
- Capsule endoscopy
- Endoscopic reflux therapy
- Gastrointestinal motility services
First, a member of the Gastrointestinal Division thoroughly evaluates each patient, educates the patient about his or her condition and treatment options, and determines a treatment plan. If an endoscopy is required, the patient receives the procedure at the endoscopy unit or at our nearby Ambulatory Endoscopy Center.
