**Family Medicine Position in New York, NY**_x000D_ Full-time/permanent_x000D_ _x000D_ As a member of a health care team, render full spectrum medical care to patient of all ages. _x000D_ _x000D_ ***Essential Functions:***_x000D_ _x000D_ Render to patients of all ages those medical services normally expected of a family practitioner in office practice: Examine, diagnose and treat medical illnesses, evaluate health status, initiate therapeutic and preventive measures, and make appropriate and necessary referrals to specialty and other consultative medical services._x000D_ Those medical illnesses which are treated include the entire spectrum of family medicine, including out-patient management of HIV disease._x000D_ Carry a patient caseload consistent with quality of care and productivity standards._x000D_ Communicate on an ongoing basis with other health care providers and staff on all aspects of the health needs of patients._x000D_ Complete all necessary paperwork connected with duties, including progress notes in the medical records, completion of all forms required by the data collection system of medical center and all outside reimbursement and regulatory agencies and organizations in a timely manner._x000D_ Attend medical staff meetings and conferences as required._x000D_ Maintain professional competence through participation in outside conferences, and other continuing medical education activities._x000D_ Participate in teaching paramedical personnel by imparting understanding of the rationale and methods of diagnostic and therapeutic activities on the job on an on-going basis, and when requested, in a more formal manner._x000D_ _x000D_ Under appropriate circumstances and with the approval of the Medical Director, admit patients to hospital and performs the normal duties of an attending physician in the management of patient care._x000D_ Participate in after-hours telephone triage coverage on rotating basis._x000D_ Assist in peer review chart audits and other appropriate quality activities._x000D_ Supervise the patient care activities of paramedical personnel assigned to work with him/her in patient care._x000D_ Immediately report any problems and/or unusual occurrences to supervisor._x000D_ Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne pathogens standards and Center policies and procedures._x000D_ Available at least one evening day a week. Willingness to work weekend clinic, based on availability and need._x000D_ Other duties and/or projects as assigned._x000D_ _x000D_ ***Qualifications:***_x000D_ _x000D_ Graduation from an accredited Medical School._x000D_ Completion of Family Practice, or Osteopathic Medicine Residency Program._x000D_ Board Certification/Eligibility in Family Practice._x000D_ Licensure to practice medicine in the State of New York with current registration._x000D_ Progressive work experience in ambulatory care setting (emergency room, clinic or health center)._x000D_ _x000D_ ***Preferred Competencies:***_x000D_ _x000D_ Competent in Prenatal Care_x000D_ Buprenorphine Waiver_x000D_ Bilingual in English and Spanish_x000D_ _x000D_ ***Competencies Required:***_x000D_ _x000D_ Customer Service_x000D_ Professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients._x000D_ Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served (if applicable)._x000D_ Commits to exceeding expectations of the patient._x000D_ _x000D_ ***Cooperation/Teamwork:***_x000D_ _x000D_ Works well with others._x000D_ Contributes input to improve outcomes._x000D_ Asks others for opinions and feedback; provides feedback in a tactful respectful way._x000D_
