Palestine Independent School District includes five elementary campuses, one intermediate campus, one middle school and one high school, with programs for gifted and talented students as well as high school honors and Advanced Placement courses. Austin University, Tyler Junior College and University of Texas at Tyler. The Palestine Community Theater produces four plays each season. Named the Outstanding Library in the United States in 1992, the Palestine Public Library has more than 70,000 volumes. The Palestine Civic Center offers 25,000 square-feet of entertainment possibilities under one roof.
