Job Description
Barton is seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician for a locum tenens position at a Multi-Specialty Clinic in California. This 120-day assignment, with a required 6-month commitment, starts on 06/02/2025. The schedule offers flexibility with either 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday (8 AM - 5 PM) or the option of four 10-hour days. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing primarily acute cases such as colds, coughs, flu, and other acute conditions. While the role is procedure-light, proficiency in women's health, including pap smears and birth control, is preferred. The physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care to scheduled patients with occasional walk-ins.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Diagnose and treat acute conditions such as colds, coughs, and flu
• Perform basic women's health procedures, including pap smears and birth control consultations
• Manage scheduled patient appointments and occasional walk-ins
• Conduct thorough patient examinations and develop treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
• Prescribe medications and provide patient education
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers in the multi-specialty setting
• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Provide patient education on preventive care and health maintenance
• Stay updated on current best practices in family medicine
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed as a Physician in California
• Board certification in Family Practice required
• Experience with Epic EHR system preferred
• Strong clinical skills in managing acute primary care conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a multi-specialty clinic setting
