Locum Tenens – Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician (MD or DO) for a locum tenens opportunity in Ferndale, CA. This is a full-scope outpatient role with a mix of adult and pediatric patients, and includes some chronic pain management.

Enjoy a balanced schedule with no nights, no weekends, and no call responsibilities in a supportive clinical environment.

Key Details:

• 🩺 Patient Volume: 18 patients per day minimum

• 📅 Schedule: M–F, 8am–5pm

• 📁 Chart Closure: Within 72 hours

• 💊 Chronic Pain Management: Required as part of the role

• 👶🧓 Patient Mix: Peds + Adults (IM-only physicians will be considered)

• ⏱️ Decision Timeline: 7–14 days from submission

• 💉 Credentialing Time: 30–90 days (average ~6 weeks with timely submission)

• 📜 Licensing/Certifications Required:

  • Active California Medical License

  • Active California DEA License

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility (within 5 years of residency)

  • CV must include month/year for all positions with all employment gaps explained

  • Acceptance of MD/DO

Credentialing Immunization Requirements (Must be current before start date):

• 2022–2023 Flu Vaccine

• TB Test or Chest X-ray (within 90 days of start)

• MMR Titer or Complete Immunization Series

• Hep B Titer or Complete Immunization Series

• Varicella Titer or Complete Immunization Series

• Tdap within the last 10 years
