General Summary:
This position provides comprehensive medical services to individuals and families, regardless of age or gender, within the scope of service and training. Responsibilities include preventive care, immunizations, primary care and treatment, health education, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting lab tests, conducting physical examinations, STD screenings, vision and hearing assessments, women’s health, family planning, prenatal services, and nutrition counseling. This role requires some evening and Saturday shifts as scheduled.
Primary Care and 100 % outpatient care
Essential Duties:
- Manages patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective integration and coordination of services.
- Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccinations, and other specialized care to prevent or treat illness, disease, or injury.
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and analyzes patient records to determine conditions and appropriate treatments.
- Collects, records, and maintains patient medical history, reports, and examination results.
- Monitors patient conditions, tracks progress, and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
- Explains procedures, discusses test results, and provides guidance on prescribed treatments.
- Educates patients and community members on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Coordinates care with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers.
- Directs and supervises the activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
- Develops, implements, or oversees health programs and clinical standards for injury or illness prevention and treatment.
- Maintains regular attendance to ensure quality patient care, direct interaction with patients, and proper use of healthcare equipment in clinic settings.
