Family Practice OR Internal Medicine Physician Basking Ridge NJ
Part time (2 days per week)
We are looking for a Physician to join our medical group part time (2 days per week) in Basking Ridge NJ. The incoming Physician will be required to see and treat a wide variety of health care issues in patients, providing comprehensive medical care and management primarily for geriatric, sub-acute patients, including admission intake, diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care interventions tailored to the unique needs of older adults. May be asked to provide care to Long Term Care/Skilled, Assisted Living and Independent Living Residents as needed. The physician will be managing complex medical conditions commonly associated with aging, while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and quality of life. Must be able to see approximately 20-25 patients per day and be able to complete charts within the first 48 hours after patient contact.
Duties:
  • Provide direct care to patients
  • Handle admissions and quarterly reviews
  • Evaluates and treats common acute and chronic conditions -Conduct thorough geriatric assessments to eval physical, cognitive, functional and other aspects of health
  • Orders and reviews diagnostic tests, X-rays, labs, and bloodwork
  • Consistently and accurately documents all calls, treatments, medications, etc. in patient chart
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding diagnosis and follow up steps
  • Responds to all patient questions
  • Participate in chart reviews as needed
  • Collaboration with the other physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff for comprehensive care
  • Coordinate with specialists, allied health professionals, and community resources to ensure seamless continuity of care and support services
  • Attempt to minimize rehospitalizations and minimize length of stay with positive outcomes
Requirements:
  • MD or DO -Board Certified Family Practice or Internal Medicine
  • Active Medical License in NJ
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred with strong clinical skills and experience providing primary care to adult patients
  • Familiarity with geriatric medicine and a passion for working with older adults
Schedule:
  • Part time -2 days per week (potential opportunity to increase hours as patient base increases)
Compensation (range):
  • $150/hr
