Clinic Medical Director (CMD) at InnovaCare Health
Job Summary
The Center Medical Director reports directly to the Associate Chief Medical Officer. The CMD, along with the Associate CMO are accountable for the direction, planning and coordination of all physician-related activities to ensure the highest appropriate level of medical care. The CMD establishes and implements standards of medical service; and develops, and implements programs for quality patient care, timeliness, productivity, utilization management, quality initiatives, provider education, and performance.
The CMD is responsible for implementing standardized clinical care guidelines to support medical management initiatives related to utilization and risk management, quality initiatives, meeting company key performance indicators, and other related provider performance issues.

Essential Job Functions
- Oversees and leads all company clinical operations.
- Provides direct care to patients.
- Works closely with the healthcare teams.
- Develops and implements clinical policies and procedures.
- Partners with executive leadership to ensure key company metrics are identified, measured, evaluated, and achieved.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local healthcare providers and community partners.
- Provides clinical supervision and mentorship to staff.
- Collaborates with the executive team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and access to care.
- Works closely with the Regional VP of Operations.
Additionally, CMD is responsible and leads efforts that are not limited to but may include the following:
Medical Staff and physician clinics- Medical Education CME
- Contracted medical directors in coordination with administrative line officers (e.g., other CMOs)
- Quality/Risk Management
- Hospitalists / Intensivists and community liaisons
Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills
- Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and/or Geriatric Medicine
- Active/Unrestricted DEA
- Active/Unrestricted Florida Medical License
- Understands and has experience in all lines of business including Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care
- Advanced interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Detailed knowledge of and ability to analyze and present data to support efficient analysis
- Ability to apply technical principles and concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in group or IPA Medical Management or Clinic Management
- Skilled at Interpersonal Relations with Executives, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Staff
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of professional medical practices related to treatment.
- Knowledge of organizational and medical policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe medical environment.
- Skill in developing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
- Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, medical staff, and the general public.
- Ability to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff, and clients.
- Good telephone manners and etiquette.
- Strong organizational skills; orientation to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and work effectively with others.
