  • This job involves providing Primary Care services to Veterans.
  • A Veteran-led and clinician-managed organization, the client delivers compassionate, expert medical care, establishing personal bonds with Veterans in Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) around the country. The Client has consistently achieved high marks from the VA in its CBOCs and is seeking first-rate colleagues to join its group.
  • This position can evolve from a locum assignment into a permanent one for the right candidate.
  • Position is located in New York state approximately 50 miles from both Syracuse and Rochester, NY.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Director for a Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. Job Responsibilities

Primarily a direct clinical care role, diagnosis, and treatment of veterans 

Oversee the clinical care given to veterans enrolled in the clinic 

Medical resource for care delivery 

Achieve and maintain excellent clinical outcomes through periodic chart reviews, direct observation, and by abiding by VA guidelines.

Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative and working relationship with our VA partners

Support patient enrollment and retention by providing guidance, when necessary, regarding scheduling, follow-up visits, or nurse visits.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree (MD/DO) 
BC in family practice or internal medicine 
2 years of clinical medical practice in primary care preferred  
Active, unrestricted license in the state of New York
Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration 
Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support to be renewed annually
Ability to provide clinical leadership 
Maintain a positive clinic culture by displaying an enthusiastic and encouraging demeanor 
Excellent computer skills

Working Hours

Office hours are Mon - Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm
