Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Locum Physician for General Medicine to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans. This is a PRN (as-needed) position with flexible hours, requiring no diagnosis or prescriptions. Physicians will perform simple examinations, including some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans.
- Conduct interview-based evaluations with minimal physical assessment (e.g., range of motion, muscle strength).
- No prescribing medications or providing treatments.
- Complete disability benefits questionnaires (DBQs) and submit them within 48 hours after the exam.
- Use a goniometer for musculoskeletal assessments.
- Utilize an online provider portal for reporting and follow-up documentation.
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardio conditions required.
- Travel to various locations as required (locations within 50 miles of your practice).
- Optional half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts.
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Physician license.
- Willing to accept candidates with the following specialties:
- Family Medicine
- Internal Medicine
- Orthopedic Surgery
- General Medicine background or experience with Compensation & Pension exams.
- Proficiency in musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory conditions.
- Ability to complete DMA certification (we will cover the cost of DMA certification).
- Must have a personal laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
- Comfortable with METs testing and basic physical exams.
- Must have a private office (own clinic) within 50 miles of the given location.
Additional Information:
- No overnight or weekend requirements.
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process.
- Full training provided for reporting and disability benefits questionnaires (DBQs).
- Travel expenses reimbursed for out-of-area assignments.
- Completion of DMA certification required (CME credits available).
- Record review and administrative follow-ups will be required regularly.
