We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and compassionate Site Medical Director to join our team at Wilcox State Prison in Abbeville, GA.
The Site Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing the medical services at Wilcox State Prison. This leadership role requires a highly skilled and visionary physician who will ensure that all inmates receive timely, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare. As the Site Medical Director, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve medical care, promote preventative practices, and maintain the highest standards of care compliance.

Job Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight: Provide direct medical care as necessary while overseeing all aspects of medical services, including emergency care, chronic care management, and urgent care services. Ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery.
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations. Develop and implement quality assurance programs to continuously improve the care provided to the inmate population.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term healthcare strategies that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Policy Development: Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures to maintain high-quality medical standards and patient safety.
Collaboration: Work closely with prison leadership, security staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of medical services with the overall goals of the facility.
Budgeting & Resource Management: Manage the medical budget, resources, and supplies effectively to maintain the delivery of quality services within the allocated resources.
Qualifications
Licensure: Current and unrestricted medical license to practice in Georgia. Board certification in a relevant medical specialty (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of medical practice, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role in a correctional setting or similar healthcare environment.
Skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of correctional healthcare systems and protocols.
Ability to manage diverse teams and complex cases in a challenging environment.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
