Optometry opening in CT - Positions located in New Britain, and Wethersfield, CT - Full-time, employed - Doctoral degree of Optometry from an accredited graduate program required. - CT state license to practice is required. Facility Details: Facility is searching for a full-time Optometrist to join our expanding Ophthalmology department. The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Saturdays as needed. The practice is part of a large multi-specialty group with robust referral base. Looking for a team player to join this very well regarded, long established, collegial practice. Facility has over 250 physicians and advanced practitioners in other specialties in addition to its Ophthalmology group. We are conveniently located in 30 locations throughout Central Connecticut. Position Details: - Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages disorders of the visual system, eye diseases and injuries. - Provides prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed. Works as part of an ophthalmic care team of optometrists and ophthalmologists in a multi-specialty practice. - Provides direct care to patients in a responsible, respectful and caring manner. - Independently diagnoses all optometric and ocular problems through external and internal physical evaluation of the eye and surrounding tissues, detects impairments or anomalies of binocular function; treats visual disorders through examination, prescription of corrective lenses, vision training and/or pharmacological means; treats unusual visual disorders through application of advanced and complex optometric techniques. - Performs comprehensive eye exams, reviewing patients history, selecting and administering specialized tests and measurements, and administering non-medical/surgical treatments. - Designs and implements individual treatment programs and selects and applies corrective/therapeutic devices. - Provides leadership that supports departmental policies and goals. - Proposes and implements strategies to assist in the advancement of Optometric practice in the delivery of care to patients.
