Job Description:
- Responsibilities include providing patient medical care to all age groups in an office-based setting, delivering diagnostic and therapeutic medical services, and making sound medical assessments and treatment plans.
- Outpatient setting
- 36 clinical hours + 4 administrative hours (working schedule TBD by practice to include some on call and rotating Saturday shifts):
- Disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
- Treatment of acute illnesses
- Treatment of acute injuries
- Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene
- Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Provides direction to both clinical and reception support staff
- Proper and complete medical documentation (without copy/paste) for all patient care in order to assure accuracy (above 80% with goal of 95%) of E/M coding – and closing/sign off after review of all patient charts in accordance with company policies Failure to meet this essential job function can affect the eligibility for productivity/PCN (percent net collection) bonuses
- Approximately 20-25 patients per day
- Proper and complete medical documentation (without copy/paste) for all patient care in order to assure accuracy of HCC coding. Failure to meet this essential job function can affect the eligibility for VBC bonuses
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Strong computer skills with prior electronic medical record (EMR) use preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, hospital personnel and community members
- Skills to perform patient treatment procedures for most acute illnesses or injuries
- Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations
