The Market Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will lead physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in delivering a proactive, team-based care approach that prioritizes better patient outcomes and a positive experience for both patients and clinical staff. This role, in collaboration with operational leadership, is accountable for executing the clinical model effectively and meeting performance targets for improved health outcomes. The CMO will utilize established governance structures and clinical leadership to ensure the consistent application of the care model across all clinics. Additionally, the role will focus on developing and strengthening leadership capabilities among physicians and APPs to foster a culture aligned with the organization's mission. This position is primarily administrative (over 80%), allowing for a daily focus on supporting clinicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

- Lead clinical onboarding for new physicians and APPs, ensuring they fully understand the organization’s mission and values.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the local healthcare environment and how it affects the care model.
- Collaborate with operational teams to guide physicians and APPs in implementing clinical programs; support market operations leadership and participate in performance reviews.
- Set data-driven, measurable goals and manage strategic and financial plans to achieve targets.
- Work closely with leadership to build a culture of continuous feedback and improvement, and ensure physician and APP engagement and satisfaction.
- Actively mentor market clinical leaders, including Practice Medical Directors and APP Directors, to develop their leadership skills.
- Ensure accountability for achieving performance targets in line with established plans.
- Oversee the execution of performance improvement initiatives and action plans.
- Advocate for new clinical initiatives and promote their alignment with the broader clinical strategy, while supporting change management.
- Contribute to market growth by supporting the recruitment and onboarding of physicians and APPs, and educating prospective candidates on the value of the care model.
- Participate in network development by identifying high-quality partners and contributing clinical expertise.
- Build strong relationships with payer partners and actively engage in contract negotiations and performance evaluations.

Compensation is based on various factors such as education, experience, and location, with a base salary range of $250,000 to $350,000. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan.
