Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Care Management Physician Clinical Advisor works in partnership with the care management (CM) leadership team to support the CM services offered within the OSF Healthcare System (OSF). The position will be responsible for facilitating patient care transition with the management of length of stay, readmission reduction, identification of appropriate level of care, and appropriate utilization of service. Collaborates and provides oversight to the utilization management review (UMR) team to meet financial and regulatory requirements. Supports the CM and OSF strategy to achieve performance improvement objectives, financial outcomes, and clinical outcomes to assure OSF meets the needs and expectations of its patients, families, and OSF as an organization.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Doctorate degree – MD or DO

Experience:

  • 5 years of Physician Experience - medical specialty

Licensure/ Certification:

  • Licensed in the State of Illinois as a Physician

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Emergency Department experience.
  • Knowledge regarding regulatory requirement Broad clinical knowledge
