Annual Salary (for .75 FTE): $178,251 to $198,057
Tacoma Family Medicine Residency Program (TFM) is seeking a full-time, AOBFP or ABFM certified physician with OB and academic skills.
TFM is a 10-8-8 community-based residency training program (includes 2 interns from our Omak Rural Training Program), that provides high quality, full-spectrum family medicine education in a supportive environment with an emphasis on preparation for serving rural and urban under-resourced patients. We have received Osteopathic Recognition from the ACGME and run a Rural Family Medicine with High-Risk OB fellowship program, training 6 fellows annually.
Our brand-new outpatient clinic opens in December 2024, across the street from our admitting hospital, Tacoma General (437 beds, the second largest OB care unit in WA state and level II trauma center). Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital (82 beds) is co-located at Tacoma General and provides level II peds trauma and level IV NICU services as well.
TFM is part of the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network, comprising some of the finest Family Medicine training programs in the country. TFM faculty teach 3rd and 4th year medical students from University of Washington, Washington State University, and Pacific Northwest University – College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Requirements
- ABFM/ACOFP board certification
- The ability to obtain full spectrum hospital privileges including obstetrics,and on-call availability
- Applicants with prior Rural experience preferred
- Additionally, prior teaching experience, ≥ 2 years post residency, geriatric interest and multilingual skills will improve one’s candidacy
- Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment
- DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $237,668.00 - $264,076.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
