Bon Secours in Richmond, VA is seeking a Part Time MD/DO to join our fast-paced Care-A-Van team.

For 30 years, the Care-A-Van has operated as a mobile health program, providing free primary health care services to uninsured populations in the Greater Richmond vicinity. In 2023, the Community Health Clinic, Manchester opened as our first brick-and-mortar primary and specialty care clinic which serves as our home base clinic as well as our business offices. Acting as a true safety-net clinic, care is provided free of cost. Along with addressing physical health needs, this team helps bridge gaps for families in need when it comes to issues of food insecurity, reduced cost referrals, financial assistance, health education, health insurance enrollment and more.

In a coordinated approach, our Manchester Clinic and mobile sites operate five days a week, staffed with physicians, nurses, and social workers providing care for more than 14,000 patient visits each year. Our clinical teams provide primary and specialty care services offered as same-day services and pre-scheduled appointments.

Seeking a provider to join a team of six other primary care + pediatric providers. This provider will work 3 days a week, rotating through our mobile sites and Manchester Clinic.

  • We are adding a .7 - part time MD/DO - to work 3 days per week - 26 clinical hours - plus 2 hours of weekly admin time - total 28 hours
  • Schedule is consistent month-to-month - any variation will be communicated/requested with advance notice
  • NO after-hours call
  • 100% outpatient care - no hospital responsibility
  • Up to 19 patients per day after ramp-up period - mix of same-day new and established patient visits
  • Provider has a pre-scheduled template of allocated appointments in the morning and afternoon, with 30 min designated for lunch
  • Each provider has 1:1 primary rooming nurse -trained in pediatric/adult care
  • Patients are all ages - Newborn to Geriatric
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking Provider is highly preferred! Must be comfortable using telephonic or interpretation services as 94% of our patients speak Spanish as their first language!
  • New physician will take over current practice panel and add new patients
  • Full onsite Lab is located at the Manchester Clinic.
  • Ancillary staff includes a Nurse Navigator, Outreach workers and part-time LCSW

This position has a guaranteed base compensation and is eligible for annual bonuses based on attainment of group goals for quality patient outcomes. Requirements: Must have completed a U.S.-based Family Medicine Residency Program and be Board Eligible or Board Certified by ABMS/ABFM or ABOFM. Must be eligible to work anywhere in the U.S.
