Family Medicine Faculty Opportunity

  • A 155-bed community-based teaching hospital in Southwest Georgia with a thriving physician group.
  • Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking a full-time faculty member to join their team in 2025.
  • Ideal Candidate: Experienced physician or new graduate interested in working in an academic setting.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Salary: Guaranteed and competitive, commensurate with experience; negotiable based on GME experience or special training (e.g., fellowship).
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
  • Call: Some call required (mainly home call after hours to cover residents); optional OB call

Facilities:

  • Clinic Facility: Located within the new 14,000 sq. ft. Medical Education Center, features:
    • 22 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, 2 precepting rooms, and an on-site lab.
  • Hospital Facilities: Access to a physicians’ lounge with meals provided and a 24-hour employee fitness center.

Patient Volume:

  • Manage an average of 20-24 patients per day (10-12 per half-day)

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
-Provide direct care to clinic patients.
-Educate residents through precepting.
-Perform full-spectrum family medicine care, with an understanding of OB (not required to perform OB).
-Take on additional faculty duties such as formal teaching, resident performance evaluations, and advising (phased in over the first year).

Qualifications

a. Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
b. Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American
Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFM)
c. Valid Georgia Medical License or participation in Interstate Medical Licensure
Compact
d. Current D.E.A. Certificate
e. Must be in good standing with current employer or residency/fellowship program
f. Must be willing to know OB but are not required to perform it.
g. Must be willing to perform the full family medicine spectrum

Preferred Qualifications:
a. FQHC/CHC experience
b. Bilingual in Spanish/English
