**Family Medicine Academic Hospitalist Opportunity: Lake Charles, LA**
**Position Details**
- Seeking a family medicine academic hospitalist for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track).
- Appointment will be commensurate with physicians credentials and experience.
- Board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) family medicine physician with full, unrestricted medical staff privileges in Family Medicine
- Job responsibilities will focus on providing excellent medical care in the inpatient care setting.
- Lead, supervise and teach a medicine team consisting of residents and medical students.
- Coordinate with outpatient care teams and case management for the safe, appropriate and timely discharge of patients.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Work with the team to review and develop appropriate order sets and procedures.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and projects.
- Ensure timely completion of all documentation and other administrative tasks to ensure smooth and seamless operational follow through.
- Work rotation 7 days on / 7 days off, available for night phone calls
- Medicine team consists of approximately 4-5 residents, and 1-2 medical students on a 4 week rotating cycle
- Case management & clinical pharmacist round with medicine team
- Open ICU
- No vent management
- ER physicians available 24/7 for codes
