Providing 1 day per week direct out_x0002_patient care and 4 days per week supervising/administering residents._x000D_ Assist in residency program practice management, overall residency operations, and resident oversight._x000D_ Assist the Program Director with program recruitment, interviews, and selection of residents._x000D_ Assist in ensuring the established strategic direction of the program, its standards, quality, and reputation of the Family Medicine Residency program as followed by faculty and residents._x000D_ Maintain ongoing clinical activity in Family Medicine, consistent with ACGME guidelines._x000D_ Assist in teaching residents as directed through clinical and didactic work._x000D_ _x000D_ Preferred Qualifications:_x000D_ Clinically practicing physician with current board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)_x000D_ Eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff Privileges_x000D_ Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for ensuring accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Family Medicine_x000D_ Demonstrate professional behaviors that allow for the Associate Program Director to serve as a role model._x000D_ Excellent verbal and written communication skills_x000D_ Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment, seeking advice when appropriate_x000D_ Must prioritize patient-centered care and be able to relate to a diverse population._x000D_ Team-oriented, action-focused, hands-on, strategically minded, experienced physician with a passion for leadership._x000D_ Must have core faculty experience to be considered_x000D_ _x000D_ Our Community:_x000D_ Enjoy easy access to museums and historic sites; stroll downtown for dining, markets, and local arts; exercise along outdoor walking tracks; go fishing or canoeing down clean waterways that flow for miles; tee off at area golf courses; or plan a weekend hunting and camping trip. _x000D_ _x000D_ Located close to I-95 and I-40, residents can easily venture to the sandy North Carolina coast or the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
