Banner University Medical Group is seeking a full time Family Medicine Faculty Physician to work in a role involving outpatient care with an emphasis on Disability and Developmental Medicine. Join the growing academic team with the Department of Family & Community Medicine at our community hospital campus in ‘weather-perfect’ Tucson, AZ.

This position is an excellent academic opportunity for a BC|BE Family Medicine physician with experience/expertise in Disability Medicine to join a dynamic faculty team that is supporting the Family Community Medicine Department of Banner University Medical Group - Tucson. Physician hired will have a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona commensurate with the candidate’s credentials.

Position Highlights:

  • Family practice including Disability/Developmental Medicine
  • Develop pilot projects and new initiatives in response to emerging issues
  • Lead medical education and developmental medicine activities
  • Conduct scholarly work representing and contributing to the UCEDD
  • Participate in trainings providing presentations and guest lectures for UCEDD courses/events
  • Contribute to the implementation of the five-year CORE grant
  • Pursue extramural funding to support/expand activities
  • Supervision of residents in the outpatient setting
  • Flexibility in scheduling to cover both clinic and residency needs

Qualifications:

  • Experience as residency faculty in a family medicine residency program
  • Curriculum development skills for residency education
  • Predoctoral teaching skills
  • Experience in continuity Family Medicine practice to include full-spectrum outpatient care at a residency teaching site

This Physician in this role will collaborate with the University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) faculty and staff to advance UCEDD programs in models of health care delivery, educational programs, trainees/health science students/resident and practicing physicians, and programs in health self-advocacy.
