**Family Medicine opening in Louisiana**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Located in ***Lafayette, LA*** - 1 hour to Baton Rouge, LA_x000D_ * Full time, permanent opening_x000D_ * Employed position_x000D_ _x000D_ Individual shall function as a physician member of the health care team rendering quality medical services to all patients in accordance with appropriate standards of medical care specific for the specialty. Individual shall also function as physician of the health care team at the facility._x000D_ _x000D_ **Qualifications:**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Must be fully licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana_x000D_ * Valid DEA license_x000D_ * Board eligible/Board certified in a primary care specialty_x000D_ * CPR certification strongly encouraged._x000D_ _x000D_ **Educations, training, & experience:**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Medical degree from an accredited medical school or DO degree from an approved osteopathy school_x000D_ * Completed a residency for board eligibility; board certification preferred_x000D_ * Current valid Louisiana medical license and DEA license_x000D_ * Demonstrated knowledge of medical practice principles of specialty_x000D_ * Sensitive to the needs of people of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds_x000D_ * Must give the same level of importance to health maintenance and disease prevention as cure and restoration_x000D_ * Must participate in Centers provider staff meetings, general staff meetings/activities and Quality Assurance_x000D_ * Must continue to meet appropriate standards as required by the Provider By-Laws_x000D_ * Must be proficient in the use of the Centricity/ EMR and capable of creating accurate, complete medical records in a timely manner_x000D_ * Must fulfill all NCQA, JCAHO, and EMR requirements accurately and within the allowed time frames_x000D_ _x000D_ **Job Responsibilities:**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Maintain patient confidentiality and patient rights_x000D_ * Display punctuality and good attendance at work_x000D_ * Work and communicate with patients to satisfy the patient expectations_x000D_ * Examine patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices._x000D_ * Maintain clinical tracking data for continuity of care_x000D_ * Assist the Medical Director with the planning, management and evaluation of health care delivery _x000D_ * Provide continuous care by obtaining hospital privileges and emergency room coverage_x000D_ * Actively participate in local, state and national medical associations/societies._x000D_ * Participate in quality assurance patient review committee_x000D_ * Records on medical record using POMR system_x000D_ * Collect appropriate data for clinical decision-making_x000D_ * Maintain current medical records_x000D_ * Develop and implement individual work plans_x000D_ * May conduct periodic formal assessments and reviews of subordinates performance_x000D_ * Promote health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease_x000D_ * Participates in community education, staff in-service and committee meetings_x000D_ * Exhibit judgment to prevent delays in service provision and avoid serious adverse impact on health status of individuals_x000D_ * Participate in infection control program_x000D_ * Assist in other departments/centers as needed and/or assigned_x000D_ * Serve as laboratory supervisor of the on-site clinic laboratory_x000D_ * Perform other related duties as assigned within the realm of clinical training/experience_x000D_ * Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners in the same department
