Seeking a physician to provide care to patients at a correctional & infirmary facility in Mitchells, Buckingham County, & State Farm, VA. The physician will provide general medical services including examinations & treatment to the inmate population.

Requirements:
• VA License
• MD/DO
• Copy of graduate medical training (residency/fellowship)

Responsibilities:
• Examine, diagnose, treat, counsel and prescribe medications for patients as needed.
• Provide physical examinations and other general services
• Record a summary in each patient's medical chart after each consultation.
• Make referrals to medical or clinical specialists when necessary.
• Responsible for providing accurate prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Responsible for the improvement in patient health and quality of life.
• Independently resolves daily medical issues.
• Ensure guidance is received on policy or exceptional situations.
• May provide medical supervision to other clinical staff.
Complexity:
• Applies knowledge of medical principles, practices, and skill in the use of medical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Ability to accurately examine, diagnose, counsel, and treat a variety of patients.
• Frequently consults on matters relating to medical treatment with: patients and their families; medical, clinical, or other professional staff; and insurance companies.
