UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program located in McKeesport, Pennsylvania is recruiting for a full-time Family Medicine Faculty Physician. This new faculty member will provide full spectrum Family Medicine including outpatient medicine (including pediatrics, geriatrics and women’s health), and inpatient rounding at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. This faculty member will be dedicated to caring for a medically underserved population and teaching/role modeling/mentoring for our family medicine residents, medical students and fellows. Responsibilities also include faculty advising/collaboration, and didactic teaching.


The UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program is a 7 resident per year program with an additional 1 resident per year combined Family Medicine/Psychiatry residency. The mission of the UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program is to train residents in an underserved environment to become exceptional Family Physicians. Patient care and resident education are equal partners in the mission of the residency. The residency provides quality, patient-centered care across all ages and clinical settings. Graduates from the Program serve rural to urban communities in Western Pennsylvania, throughout the US, and across the world. The Residency supports several tracks to meet this mission including Global Health, HIV and Lifestyle Medicine.


The UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program is affiliated with UPMC McKeesport which is located in the valley of the historic Monongahela River -- the Mon Valley. Founded in 1894, UPMC McKeesport is a nonprofit acute care community hospital that serves the 19,225 residents of McKeesport and the surrounding area. UPMC McKeesport serves as a superb training site. The hospital offers 213 licensed beds for acute care patients and includes units dedicated to Rehabilitation (9), Psychiatry (37) and Detox (27). The hospital sponsors four residency programs: Family Medicine, Family Medicine/Psychiatry, Internal Medicine and Pharmacy.


Core Faculty, Physician Job Qualifications:

- Medical Degree

- Accredited Family Medicine Residency Program completion

- Board Certified in Family Medicine (or Board eligible and certified within 3 years of employment).

- Unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License, MD or DO, or can obtain prior to start

- DEA certification

- Experience in Graduate Medicine Education a plus but not required


This is a salary position with a quality incentive bonus, sign-on bonus, and academic incentive pay.
