Job Title: Locum Physician - Family Medicine with Obstetrics

Join a dedicated team at a well-established hospital in Dodge City, Kansas, that is looking for a Family Medicine physician with obstetrics expertise. This role entails coverage for various dates with a focus on delivering quality patient care in both clinic and inpatient settings. Be part of a facility that manages around 600 births annually and serves a supportive community while working in a collaborative environment with experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide obstetrical care, including new obstetrics, established obstetrics, and gynecological consultations.
  • Participate in surgical consultations with blocks scheduled twice per week for non-emergent surgeries.
  • Handle 24-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 am, including on-call duties related to obstetric and emergency gynecology cases.
  • Partner with skilled staff, including CRNAs, lab technicians, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a procedure log demonstrating proficiency in required obstetric and gynecological procedures, including C-sections and hysterectomies.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine with Obstetrics or truly Board Eligible (0-5 years since residency completion).
  • Active Kansas medical license is highly preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for credentialing.
  • Active DEA license required for credentialing.
  • Availability for specified shifts and flexibility to accommodate various dates.
  • Understanding of EMR training requirements and commitment to complete necessary training.
  • Clean malpractice and background records are highly preferred.
  • Documented successful completion of necessary fetal monitoring continuing education within the past four years is required.

License & Certification Requirements

  • Active Kansas medical license.
  • BLS certification.
  • DEA license (must be maintained throughout the assignment).
