Seeking a skilled Optometrist to join a growing Division of Ophthalmology just northwest of Boston.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide comprehensive eye care, from routine check-ups to treatment and management of visual disease or injury. Experience counseling patients on health issues impacting ocular health (e.g., smoking, obesity) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams
- Conduct vision tests and analyze results
- Diagnose and treat ocular issues and diseases (e.g., farsightedness, glaucoma)
- Prescribe corrective lenses and fit contact lenses
- Provide contact lens treatment with scleral lenses, Rigid GPL, with a special interest in Keratoconus
- Build strong doctor-patient relationships
- Handle eye care emergencies
- Evaluate patients for other health issues (e.g., diabetes) and refer as needed
- The Division is a collegial group where providers feel their contributions are recognized and valued
- Ideal candidates should possess strong academic credentials including Residency Training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Candidates should be committed to providing exceptional patient care, and hard-working, dependable, collegial and professional in their demeanor.
- Retention incentive: 1 shift reduction per month after completion of 1 year as 1.0 FTE or equivalent, additional shift reduction after completion of 3 year as 1.0 FTE or equivalent
