Job Description:

Academic/Faculty Duties. For the academic, faculty, teaching, and/or research services provided. Physician will provide academic services to IHCHS in conformance with the following:

Full-Time Faculty Physician – Utah Valley Family Medicine Residency

Intermountain’s Utah Valley Family Medicine residency is an 8-8-8 ACGME accredited residency program located at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah started in 1998. As a community-based, unopposed residency at Utah Valley Hospital, our goal is to train well rounded family physicians. Our mission is to “educate physicians for a balanced lifetime of personal growth, community service and clinical excellence.”

Job Description:

As a family medicine faculty physician you will join a team of 6 other full-time faculty physicians, and a PhD Behavioral Medicine director, who are committed to teaching and providing quality care and excellent patient experience. Faculty physicians teach, supervise residents and provide patient care in the outpatient clinic (Merrill Gappmayer Family Medicine Center) and in the hospital (adult medical, obstetrical and newborn patients)

  • Faculty are paid a competitive salary (Paid to teach, not paid on production)
  • Typical work weak is 2-3 clinic half days, 3-4 clinic precepting half days, administrative time
  • Reasonable call schedule – on call when on inpatient medicine coverage – 3 or 4 days at a time. Average of 1 mid-week 3 day inpatient coverage every 6 weeks and 1 weekend 4 day shift every 6 weeks.
  • Additional pay when working weekend inpatient coverage, call shifts and also after-hours obstetrical deliveries

Minimal Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • ABMS board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine
  • Active, unrestricted Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • ACLS, BLS certification
  • Active, unrestricted DEA
  • Ability to be credentialed through Intermountain and obtain active privileges at Utah Valley Hospital in Family Medicine with Obstetrics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching medical students and/or residents

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$7.25 - $999.99
