The UI Department of Family Medicine is seeking physicians for teaching and non-teaching opportunities to build their career within a thriving academic healthcare system. This is an excellent opportunity to practice a full range of primary care/family medicine, including outpatient, inpatient, and maternity care (operative or non-operative). Additionally, candidates are encouraged to participate in departmental scholarships and can explore both intramurally and extramurally funded research activities.

Faculty will practice in one of our clinics in and around Iowa City. We have immediate openings at the following clinics:

  • UI Health Care Iowa City, First Avenue
  • UI Health Care Coralville, Oakdale Drive
  • UI Health Care Iowa River Landing East
  • UI Health Care Muscatine, Mulberry Avenue (rural clinic)

Qualifications

• Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants must have a medical school degree, (MD/DO/MBBS) and show successful completion of an approved residency program in family medicine and fellowship (if applicable).
• The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain, or already hold, an active Iowa medical license.
• Candidates must be board-certified in family medicine (or non-U.S. board equivalent) or be in the certification process (pending completion of residency or fellowship).
• Individuals trained outside of the United States who are certified by an equivalent national certification group may be considered.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
