ECU Health Physicians and East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a board-eligible/board-certified Family Medicine physician to join the department in a fixed term, or tenure track, academic position.

Our nationally recognized unopposed rural residency program offers the best of both worlds to residents and faculty alike. Accredited in 2021, this program is comprised of three rural sites with 27 resident positions. This 1-2 rural program has partnered with multiple regional FQHC’s to create unique community-based training opportunities in a public university-affiliated program. We are seeking candidates with passion and enthusiasm for teaching full-scope family medicine in both urban and rural environments. There are opportunities for leadership and professional growth/development.

· Monday – Friday work week

· 1-2days per week would be spent at one of 3 rural sites located in Ahoskie, NC; Duplin, NC; and Roanoke Rapids, NC

· Work at rural sites involves precepting in the rural continuity clinic and didactic/administrative roles

· Remaining time will consist of patient care activities which may include direct patient care to an assigned panel of patients and patients of other providers, precepting residents, or working in the hospital on the Family Medicine Service

· Hospital patient care will include bedside teaching of residents, medical and PA students

· Medical Student teaching responsibilities may include didactic teaching one or two afternoons per week in the Foundations of Doctoring or other courses

· Strong emphasis on teaching, mentoring, advising, supervision of residents, medical students, and other learners

· Opportunities to develop administrative and scholarship skills

· Clinical practice experience preferred

· Required: ACLS & BCLS certifications
