Job Summary
Job Description
A Physician-owned and led multi-specialty group seeks a Family Medicine physician with a focus on Sports Medicine. This multi-specialty medical group has 55 MDs (25 are family physicians and one is sports medicine). Their residency-trained, board-certified family and sports medicine physicians care for their patients in the office, emphasizing clinical excellence, evidenced-based diagnosis and treatment, teamwork, continuity of care, good communications, professionalism, outstanding service, and maintaining a highly collegial atmosphere.
They are looking for a full-time physician to work 50% Sports Medicine and 50% Family Medicine initially and then track to 100% Sports Medicine after the practice builds. The family and sports medicine physician does not do inpatient care (which is covered 24/7 by the Triad Hospitalists), or obstetrics. Sports Medicine candidates will perform ultrasound-guided injections and diagnostic ultrasound, do an informal interpretation of diagnostic imaging pending radiology review, diagnose and manage concussion and uncomplicated fractures, and have basic DME knowledge. The Physical Therapy division, which is next door to the Sports Medicine office, complements these services and provides exceptional care and access to patients. Enjoy a competitive financial guarantee and comprehensive benefits package during the first year and a partnership available after 1 year. Patients of family and sports medicine physicians who require hospitalization are admitted and followed by the Triad Hospitalists (board-certified internists). Communication among the family and sports medicine physicians and the hospitalists is excellent. Hospital admissions are at two hospitals, both of which are part of the Cone Health System. At the 2 facilities, there is a comprehensive range of secondary and tertiary-level diagnostic and treatment services and 800+ beds. The family medicine residency program there is affiliated with UNC Medical Center - Chapel Hill.

There is a four-season climate (winter is very short and moderate!). The Piedmont Triad International Airport serves as a hub for many different carriers and 65+ flights daily, direct to major cities in the East, South, and Midwest. Arts, education, and recreation opportunities are plentiful, including 4 colleges and universities, the prestigious Eastern Music Festival, a great park system with lakes, bike trails, and gardens, a variety of public and private schools, numerous organizations and clubs to engage nearly every possible interest, and a regional shopping and convention center.
