Overview:
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing medical leadership and direction to the organization. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing medical strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as providing medical oversight and guidance to the organization.
  • Setting: Outpatient clinic
  • Population: Geriatrics

What you will be doing:
  • Oversee the delivery of care and clinical outcomes.
  • Provide medical guidance and supervision of medical services activities.
  • Lead the development of medical policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop clinical standards and medical practice guidelines and protocols.
  • Oversee the Quality Improvement (QI) Plan.
  • Review quality of care issues and implement corrective action plans.
  • Participate in the training and education of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate performance appraisals of the Primary Care Physician.
  • Develop educational programs to enhance provider skills.
  • Manage communication with the provider network in conjunction with the Contract Manager.
  • Represent our client to external agencies, professional groups, and regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you must have:
  • M.D. or D.O. with a current state license.
  • DEA registration and the ability to obtain and maintain staff privileges at contracted agencies.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice; advanced certification in geriatrics preferred.
  • Experience in a managed care environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead administrative role.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and state-required liability auto insurance.
  • Medically cleared for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
  • Pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
