Hartford HealthCare, (HHC) the most comprehensive, integrated health care system in Connecticut, invites experienced Endocrinologists to join and direct our Diabetes and Endocrinology service in Norwich, Connecticut and East Region. Serving a large population with a variety of general endocrine disorders, using a team-based approach toward diabetes wellness and prevention, the Chief of Endocrinology will be responsible for:

  • On-site supervision of providers and educators; including annual review and privileging
  • Collaboration with Administrative Director on day-to-day operations, including compliance with JCAHO & DPH regulations.
  • Collaboration on strategy, development and enhancement of inpatient and outpatient programs, including recruitment.
  • Collaboration with inpatient educators and chart audits for hypoglycemia in East Region; participate in glycemic management with inpatient educator.
  • Participation in quality and risk management for inpatient and outpatient services for Backus Hospital & Hartford HealthCare Medical Group (HCMG).
  • Implementation of outpatient and inpatient protocols at Backus Hospital in alignment with HHC protocols for the Endocrine Service Line.
  • Participation in quality safety meetings, endocrine councils and all other committees, as needed.

Qualifications

Fellowship Trained Endocrinologist eligible to practice or obtain license to practice in the state of Connecticut. Minimum of 5 years’ experience preferred.
