Amazing opportunity for an Emergency Medicine Assistant Medical Director at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern, North Carolina.
An EM Assistant Director will have the opportunity to work alongside a supportive team to deliver excellence in patient care. Assistant directors are expected to support the EM director in overseeing the operations of the emergency department in collaboration with the nursing staff and hospital leadership.
Details
- Supports the EM Director in overseeing the operations of the ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration
- Helps with the supervision of the emergency medical staff, per the bylaws, policies, and procedures of the institution
- Represents the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff
Emergency Department
- Brand new ED completed in 2020
- ED Volume: 60,000
- 65 care spaces, including many medical treatment rooms, locked behavioral health unit, super track, ambulatory patient care area, 2 state-of-the-art trauma resuscitation bays, etc.
- Brand new SonoSite Forte for POC US and new video laryngoscopy/fiber optic airway equipment
- Double physician coverage for the majority of the day
- Advanced practice providers (APPs) staff Provider in Triage during high volume periods
- Flexible documentation system using templates and voice recognition
- Emergency physicians do not write admitting orders. Internal Medicine, intensive care, pediatric, general surgery, and orthopedic hospitalists perform almost all admissions
- Excellent ACLS-certified nursing staff
- EMR: Cerner (EPIC as of 11/30/2024)
