Medical Center is seeking multiple LOCAL ONLY locum Emergency Medicine providers in Springfield, MA - $325 Hourly

Start Date: June 2025, Ongoing. Starting in June 8-10 shifts per month needed. July ongoing will be a consistent 10-12 shifts per month.

Shifts and Hours: Days and Night--Focus on nights for June and come July will need day and night coverage.

Submission Details:

• Board Certified (ABEM and AOBEM) or Board Eligible with 5 years of Residency - REQUIRED
• Active MA License - REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF NAME CLEAR (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Provider Must be Local within driving distance - REQUIRED
• Availability for days or nights, or both at the time of presentation: REQUIRED

Position Details:

• Annual ER Volume: 55,000
• Percent (%) of Total Hospital Admissions Received from ED: 15%
• Percent (%) of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital per Day: 15%
• Percent (%) of ED Patients Transferred per Day: 1-2 pts per day
• Trauma Level/Designation: None-we are a community hospital
• Total Number of Beds: 44
• Number of ED Physicians in Group: 11 total physicians of which 5 are leaving
• Fast track in ED
• Fast Track Staffed APP
• Percent (%) of Total ED Volume Treated by Fast Track: 40%
• Will the Locum Physician be Required to Supervise Other Health Care Providers? APPs yes
• Documentation System/EMR: Epic
• Does ED Staff Respond to House Codes? Yes
• If Yes, are House Codes Secondary to ED Emergencies?: Secondary to ED emergencies, we have a response team. ED does airway on that team
• Who Writes Admission Orders?: Hospitalists
• Response Time for On Call Physicians (List Time)? 30 minutes or less
• Are Deliveries Received in ED or Sent Directly to Labor & Delivery? L&D
• Is ED Responsible for Monitoring/Supervising Paramedics/Ambulance by Radio? Yes
• 24 Hour Availability for Radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray)? Yes
• 24 Hour Availability for Laboratory? Yes
• Blood Bank - Certified by AABB? Yes
• 24 Hour Availability for the OR? Yes
• 24 Hour Availability for Anesthesia? Yes
• Who does EKG Interpretations? EM docs
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Need approx 4 weeks to get mandatory onboarding functions completed
