Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Solo Coverage Physician to join our team at a low-volume emergency department in beautiful Southern Illinois. This is a unique opportunity to provide quality patient care in a setting with a manageable caseload, offering you the freedom to choose your own schedule. As the sole physician on shift, you'll have the autonomy to manage patient care while enjoying the support of a skilled medical team when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency medical care to patients in a low-volume emergency department
• Perform assessments, diagnostics, and treatments for a wide range of acute conditions
• Stabilize patients for transport, if necessary, and coordinate with specialty teams for higher-level care
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
• Collaborate with the hospital's medical leadership for continuous improvement in care delivery

Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM), Family Medicine (FM), or Internal Medicine (IM) with emergency department experience
• Current, valid medical license in the state of Illinois
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to work independently with a self-motivated and proactive approach
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to manage a variety of emergency situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
