Chief Medical Officer

Position Overview: The Chief Medical Officer will oversee a medical operation that encompasses primary care, urgent care, and emergency care services. This program entails providing health care services in austere environments in the United States and overseeing EMS services on site. This would start as a consultant basis with the opportunity to go full-time. This job will also be a remote role with some travel.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The employee is frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Responsible for daily oversight of assigned medical programs and medical staff carrying out medical services.
Ensure all medical services meet federal healthcare standards and CMS regulations.
Develops standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining primary, urgent, and emergency care services
Help create a pharmacy formulary for indication-based treatment in an urgent care setting.
Consult and help establish an on-site CLIA Waived Laboratory program.
Responsible for ensuring 100% contract compliance in accordance with US government rules and regulations
Acts as representative for GardaWorld Federal Services during daily meetings with US government customers
Document staff performance concerns in accordance with agency and program policy and procedure.
Provide and/or arrange for training for all employees under their purview, including agency required training, remediation for performance deficiencies and for increasing clinical or professional skills associated with their role.
Maintain up to date program descriptions for any program under their purview.
Adhere to rules and regulations related to consumer rights and maintain confidentiality of consumer records.
Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of program records to ensure compliance with all regulatory and payor standards.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Ten (10) years of Medical Operational experience
Five (5) years of Medical Supervisory experience
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Board certified in Emergency Medicine
Board certified in Emergency Medical Services
Experience in managing expeditionary medical projects
