  • Patients Per Shift: Approximately 140 patients daily in a 38-bed ED/UC.
  • Support Staff: Includes RN, PA/NP, and office staff; 24-hour availability for critical services such as general surgery, anesthesia, and radiology.
  • Orientation: The first day (Monday) is reserved for orientation.
  • Provide emergency medical care in a combined Emergency Department (ED) and Urgent Care setting at a tertiary-level facility.
  • Manage diverse cases, including trauma, urgent care needs, and general emergency medicine.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, PAs, and NPs, to deliver optimal patient care.
  • Supervise advanced practice providers and residents when required.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR system for documentation and patient management.
  • Work flexible 12-hour shifts, including day, night, and weekend coverage as per the rotational schedule.

  • Providers must utilize a real-time mobile time clock system.
  • The role requires flexibility in shift coverage, including nights and variable schedules.
  • Holiday coverage includes major U.S. holidays and half-day coverage on Christmas Eve starting at noon.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, PAs, and NPs, to deliver optimal patient care.

Work flexible 12-hour shifts, including day, night, and weekend coverage as per the rotational schedule.

Qualifications

Board Certification: Must be ABEM-certified or board-eligible.
Certifications Required: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS.
Experience: Emergency medicine experience in a high-volume facility is preferred.
Licensure: Active Wisconsin medical license required; temporary privileges available for qualified candidates.
Credentialing Timeline: Estimated 60 days for clean files.

Working Hours

Shifts:
6 AM - 6 PM or 6 PM - 6 AM, 7 days/week.
Double coverage shifts:
Monday-Friday: 10 AM - 10 PM
Saturday-Sunday: 11 AM - 10 PM
Coverage Need: 2 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) providers (11 shifts/month per FTE).

Skills

Expertise in managing emergency medical and trauma cases.
Effective collaboration and communication skills in a high-paced environment.
Proficiency in supervising advanced practice providers and teaching residents.
Familiarity with real-time mobile time clock systems, preferably GPS-based.
