JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Physician - Emergency Medicine
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Texarkana, TX
• Service Setting: Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: February 3, 2025 – August 30, 2025
• Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7a–7p and 7p–7a
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: All age groups
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 37 patients per day
• Admissions: None, as patients requiring admission are transferred
• Case Mix: General emergency medicine, high acuity patients transferred
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 12 ED beds
• EMR System: EPIC
• Office Equipment Available: Labs, x-ray, and CT on site
• Specialty Backup Available: High acuity patients transferred to St. Michael Main Campus
• Support Staff Available: MD/DO staffing 24 hours daily, NP/PA staffing 8 hours/day (Saturday-Monday)
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage due to start-up needs (facility opened July 2024)
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes, expedited for clean files with no red flags
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 30-60 days
• Onboarding Requirements: 4-hour remote EMR training (mainly on Mondays), hospital orientation with shadow shift

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• General emergency medicine procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Texas license required
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS (If EM boarded, ATLS can be expired but prior certification is required)
• Experience: For Family Medicine (FM), must demonstrate active ED practice in a setting with over 10,000 annual visits within the last 2 years
• Residency: Completion of ACGME or AOA-approved residency in Emergency Medicine (EM) or Family Medicine (FM)
• Other Qualifications: Proficiency with EPIC EMR system preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced, free-standing ED
• Collaborate with support staff and transfer high-acuity patients as necessary
• Complete EMR documentation accurately and promptly
• Participate in hospital orientation and EMR training sessions prior to start date
