JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Physician - Emergency Medicine

• Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7 AM – 7 PM & 7 PM – 7 AM
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults, Pediatrics
• Annual Volume: Approximately 22,000 patients
• Patient Volume: ~55-65 patients per day
• Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine
FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic
• Support Staff Available: Physicians and APPs (Advanced Practice Providers, 24-hour physician coverage, 18-hour APP coverage)
• Specialty Backup Available: Limited
• Scribe Coverage: Not Provided
• Reason for Coverage: Staffing needs for consistent coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (Expedited if provider has a clean file)
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 30-60 days
• Orientation Requirements: 4-5 hour facility orientation; EPIC training available on Tuesdays (8:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• General Emergency Medicine procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Iowa State License and DEA
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS
• Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ Emergency Medicine experience
- Must provide case log for verification
• Other Qualifications:
- Board Certification in ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or their osteopathic counterparts
- Must hold an MD or DO degree
- Experience with EPIC EMR is a plus
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced environment
• Manage 12-hour shifts, independently handling high patient volume
• Participate in required orientation and EMR training
• Adhere to hospital protocols and compliance standards
