We are seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum tenens coverage starting March 27, 2025. This role includes clinical hours in a Level III trauma center with robust support staff and manageable patient volumes.

  • Provide high-quality care to patients in the emergency department.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Handle approximately 36 patients per day, with an average of 3 admissions per shift.
  • Collaborate with a team of ED nurses and a physician assistant (available Monday-Friday, 1 PM–9 PM).
  • Document all patient interactions and care in MediTech EMR.
  • Attend the required onsite orientation on March 26, 2025 (8 AM–3 PM)

Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care to patients in the emergency department.

Qualifications

Education & Certification:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (required).
Licensure & Certifications:
Active Michigan medical license (required).
BLS certification (required).
Experience:
Proven experience in emergency medicine, with the ability to handle diverse patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours

Orientation: March 26, 2025 (8 AM–3 PM).
Coverage Days: March 27 and 28, 2025 (8 AM–8 PM).
Future shifts may include weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage.
Shifts: 12-hour clinical shifts (8 AM–8 PM).

Skills

Expertise in managing diverse emergency cases, including trauma care.
Strong decision-making and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency with MediTech EMR or the ability to adapt quickly to new systems.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to coordinate care with ED staff and support teams.
