Job Description
The Department of Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) invites applications for faculty positions at all academic ranks. We seek highly skilled clinicians committed to providing excellent patient-centered care and contributing to the department’s vision of becoming a world-class academic emergency department centered around the needs of the patient. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, integrity, a commitment to teaching and mentorship, and collaboratively lead multidisciplinary teams with excellence. A track record of excellence in education, research, or clinical operations is desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care in VUMC’s emergency departments, including the adult Level I trauma center, the Nashville VA, and affiliated hospitals.
- Engage in educational activities, including training and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical and educational settings.
- Participate in academic research, with opportunities to be involved in funded projects through the NIH/NHLBI VISTA T32 program. Focus on hospital-based care for heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders.
- Contribute to division-specific initiatives in global health, simulation, ultrasound, or EMS.
Qualifications
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine
- Experience or interest in academic medicine, including clinical operations, education, or research
- Expertise in global health, simulation, operations, or research is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
