We are seeking experienced and dedicated physicians to join our team for locum tenens opportunities across several urgent care facilities in Springfield and Joplin, Missouri. Our state-of-the-art centers provide high-quality care to patients of all ages with a focus on efficiency and excellence in outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care for patients aged six months and older with urgent care needs.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, incision and drainage (I&D), splinting, and IV placements.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and ECGs, using onsite equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR system.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including medical assistants, scribes, and radiology technicians, to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Work scheduled clinical hours only; no on-call duties required.

Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care to patients aged 6 months and older with urgent care needs.
Conduct minor procedures including suturing, wound care, incision and drainage (I&D), splinting, and IV placements.
Oversee and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and ECGs (onsite equipment provided).
Collaborate with support staff including medical assistants, scribes, and radiology technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
Utilize the Epic EMR system for patient documentation; training provided but quick adaptation required.
Adhere to clinic schedules, working 12-hour shifts on weekdays (8 AM to 8 PM) and weekends (potential transition to 12-hour shifts).

Qualifications

Board Certified/Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Emergency Medicine (EM), or Med/Peds.
Residency training in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics.
Must hold certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Board (AOB).
Experience:
Proof of 50 patient encounters within the past 12 months with relevant experience.
Experience with urgent care procedures such as suturing, splints, and wound care.
Licenses and Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Active medical license(s) required before onboarding.
Comfortable with EMR systems; Epic experience preferred.

Working Hours

Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
Saturday-Sunday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (may transition to 12-hour shifts)
Physicians must be willing to work up to 14 shifts per month including weekends and weekdays.

Skills

Strong clinical acumen and ability to handle a high patient volume (30-50 patients per shift).
Proficient in performing minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.
Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary support staff.
Adaptability to technology, particularly EMR systems.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet clinic schedules.
