Practice Setting: Emergency Department

Types of Cases: General emergency care, including intubation, chest tubes, and central lines

# of Patients per Hour: 1.5 – 1.8

Ages: Pediatric to Adult

EMR: Cerner

Board Certified or Eligible in Emergency Medicine (must achieve certification within 2 years if not already certified)

ACLS/PALS required if not ABEM/AOBEM certified

Proof of ATLS certification required at least once (maintenance not required)

Annual patient volume: 22,000

ED Bed Count: 23

Scribe Coverage: None

APC Coverage: 1 swing APC: 10a-10p; an additional APC 3 days per week

Admitting Orders: Handled by hospitalist

Temporary/Emergency privileges available for providers with a clean file

Travel and lodging provided; malpractice insurance coverage; weekly electronic pay; refer and earn program
