We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team on a locum tenens basis. This role is essential to ensure seamless coverage in the Emergency Department, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, Level 3 Trauma Center.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver emergency care to a diverse patient population averaging 77 visits per day.
Provide supervision to 1-2 Advanced Practice Providers during shifts.
Collaborate with a team of physicians and APPs to manage peak patient flow, especially during peak hours (11 a.m. - 11 p.m.).
Utilize EMR systems, transitioning from Cerner PowerChart to EPIC in June.
Contribute to the medical education of trainees in this teaching hospital setting.
Maintain trauma privileges and adhere to protocols in a Level 3 Trauma Center.

Qualifications

Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM preferred. FM candidates with fellowship training in Emergency Medicine will be considered.
Licensure: Active Iowa medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility.
Certifications:
ACLS and PALS (through AHA), unless ER boarded (waived for ACLS and PALS).
ATLS required for trauma privileges.
Experience: Clean background and ability to provide complete credentialing documentation with a 10-year work history.
Availability for night shifts required.

Working Hours

Flexible FTE with open shift coverage.
Shift length: 9-hour or 12-hour shifts.
No on-call responsibilities.
Night shifts required.
