The Radiation Oncologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating cancer patients using radiation therapy. This includes developing individualized treatment plans, supervising radiation treatment delivery, monitoring treatment progress, and ensuring the safety and effectiveness of radiation therapy. The Radiation Oncologist works closely with medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive cancer care. This role also involves patient counseling and educating patients about their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, efficient care to patients in the emergency department (ED) on a temporary basis.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urgent and emergent medical conditions, from minor injuries to life-threatening situations.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of fast, compassionate, and evidence-based care.
  • Oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Write orders for admissions.
  • Direct deliveries to Labor & Delivery.
  • Consult with specialists, including Radiologists, Cardiologists, Pulmonologists, Gastroenterologists, Urologists, and Hematologists/Oncologists.

Qualifications:

  • OH state License - REQUIRED
  • COVID Vaccination - REQUIRED
  • NRP Certification - REQUIRED
  • Board Certified - REQUIRED
