Job Responsibilities

nd interpret appropriate diagnostic tests necessary to complete the ED evaluation.5. Stabilize all critically ill or injured patients.6. Participates as a peer reviewer process when requested.7. Admit patients to the hospital or discharge them from the ED with appropriate follow-up.8. Discuss treatment plan(s) with patient and or family/caregiver (following COBRA and HIPAA guidelines).9. Exhibits leadership in suggesting, and, with approval by the Chief, Emergency Department, instituting changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and finding from research and studies. Keeps informed of developments in the management and treatment of diseases and illness through continuing medical education, both formal and informal.10. Coordinate patient care with consultants as deemed appropriate.11. Supports the safety, occupational health, and fire protection program by the application of approved standards, regulations, practices, and work methods.12. Completes all medical record documentation in CPRS within prescribed timeframes.13. Utilizes problem solving methodologies to resolve problems that impact on patient care or staff performance.14. Plans implements, and evaluates care based on age specific requirements of the patient.
