Hi there! This is Jason from ProTouch Medical.
We are in search of a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician for Ingham County, Michigan. The region is located in South Central Michigan, near the Capitol.
The ideal Provider will be licensed in Michigan and Board Certified ABEM of AOBEM & be comfortable performing all required procedures listed below.
This Client offers competitive compensation for the right candidate. ProTouch covers all travel expenses & malpractice with tail coverage.
Location: Ingham County, Michigan
Job Type: Locum / Contract
Shift Description:
- Weekday M-F: 6am-4, 10am-8pm, 12-10, 4pm-2am, 8pm-6am
- Weekend Sat/Sun: 6am-4pm, 10-am-8pm, 4pm-2am, 8pm-6am
Practice Details:
- Reason for Locum Coverage: Recruitment Gap. <--(This indicates an opportunity for Locum-to-Perm conversion, if interested.)
- Patients per day: 110
- Staff Support: full nursing, 12 hours of APP coverage daily,
- Current EHR in use: Cerner
- Number of beds: 42
- 70% of total admis received from ED
- 22% of ED patients admitted to the hospital per day
- <1% of ED patients transferred per day
- Trauma Level: 3
- Annual ER Volume: 40,000
- Fast track in ED - Yes, staffed by APP
- 15% of total ED volume treated by Fast Track
- Locum will be required to supervise other health care providers: APP and residents
- ED staff does not respond to house codes
- Hospitalist writes admission orders
Required Procedures:
Family Medicine Procedures/Skills: Adult Outpatient, Pediatric-General Outpatient, Newborn resuscitation, Orthopedic-Non-displaced fractures, Suturing of minor lacerations, Incision & Drainage, Psychiatric-Uncomplicated adult, Psychiatric-Uncomplicated child/adolescent, Psychiatric-Uncomplicated geriatric, Diagnosis & management of common industrial-related medical problems, Ventilation management-establishing & maintaining an airway; various modes of ventilation for up to 24 hrs w/o pulmonary consultation, Evaluation & management of acute volume/BP issues, Central Line, Arterial Line, EKG Interpretation, Arthrocentesis, Lumbar puncture, Paracentesis, EM related procedures
