Job Title: Emergency Department Physician

Locations:

• Meigs, OH
• Gallipolis, OH
• Jackson, OH
• *Must be able to be submitted to all locations*

Job Type: PRN (Minimum of 5 shifts per month required)

Shifts Available:

• 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (Night shifts and weekends preferred)
• Must be available 5 shifts a month

Current Dates Needed:

• December 10, 2023
• December 23-27, 2023

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality emergency care for a variety of patient presentations.
• Oversee and support Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in the Emergency Department.
• Write orders for patient admissions and coordinate with hospital teams.
• Manage fast-track patient flow for less acute cases.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, including radiologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, urologists, and hematologists/oncologists.

Facility Details:

• Patient Volume: 20,000 annually.
• Total ED Beds: 11.
• Admission Rate from ED: 17%.
• Transfer Rate: Less than 7%.
• Trauma Designation: None.
• EMR System: AllScripts/Paragon.

Additional Notes:

• Deliveries are sent directly to Labor & Delivery.
• The role involves decision-making for admissions and oversight of care coordination within the department.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine or related specialties.
• Experience in emergency care settings preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage high-acuity cases effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to oversee APPs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
