Critical Care Nocturnist Opening in Troy, NY Position Overview: Seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Critical Care Nocturnist physicians to manage the night operations of our intensive care services. The role involves leadership responsibilities including direct oversight of clinical care and operational processes during night shifts in a closed ICU setting. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the management and care of critically ill patients during night shifts in our high-acuity, closed ICU. - Provide leadership and make critical decisions that influence patient outcomes overnight. - Develop and ensure adherence to clinical protocols specifically tailored for night operations. - Work collaboratively with daytime teams and other nocturnists to ensure continuity of care. - Mentor night staff and support ongoing education and professional development. - Lead initiatives to optimize patient care and streamline nighttime operations. Essential Functions: - Supervise all clinical aspects of care in the ICU during assigned night shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. - Ensure effective communication and handovers from day to night shift. - Manage critical care responses to emergencies and facilitate urgent medical interventions. - Maintain high standards of care, adhering to best practices and institutional protocols. Requirements: - Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine. - Valid New York State licensure and DEA certification required. - Strong leadership capabilities and ability to perform effectively under pressure. - Excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
